East. WaterColor and Seaside first, then Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, and Inlet Beach, pastel rooftops giving way to hard white walls.

Out. The Gulf deepens into the green that gave this coast its name. Dolphins move through here. Some afternoons they surface alongside the hull. Some afternoons they do not.

Or west toward Crab Island. The shallow sandbar just inside Destin Pass, where the water turns pale and warm and stays waist deep for hours. From Grayton it works best as a full-day charter.

Sunset. Shorter and entirely about the light. Departures are timed to reach open water for the last of it, when the sun drops low over the Gulf and the water turns amber and the coastline softens into silhouette.
